Someone
I had just met
touched my soul
and my life reset.
Words
were not exchanged,
so how could my life
be so rearranged?
A mere smile.
A simple grin.
That’s all it takes
for inspiration to begin.
See, it’s not your voice,
it’s your presence.
Volumes are spoken
by your mere essence.
Do not be consumed
by what it is you do,
or your accomplishments,
be them many or few.
For in time
they’ll no longer count,
and you’ll find your essence
is what it’s all about.
Embrace your truth-
the light you have within.
Live from there
and feel the real magic begin.
And when you feel
an opportunity you want to take,
listen to that call
for a big difference it can make.
Send love to a stranger.
Hold the hand of someone dying.
Gaze into a wise baby’s eyes.
Hug someone who is crying.
Be a light in this world,
let your radiance shine.
Feel deep love within
and see in everything the Divine.
Love, Bobbie Jo
Five years ago, when my father passed, I felt the calling to be a hospice volunteer.
I finally answered that call.
The gift, is not only being a space of love for others, but getting to meet the most amazing souls I never would have.
In the brief sacred time I’ve gotten to share so far, I’ve been touched in the deepest of ways.
I realized what I do really doesn’t matter as much as who I am.
It is the values we have lived. The lives we have touched. The love we have given and received.
To be true to you, and show up as love in everything you do.
And even when your hands can no longer work, you legs no longer hold you and your lips no longer speak the words… you are still able to be seen, known, heard and loved by a stranger, for your very essence shines bright.
I pray in my last moments, whoever comes to be by my side, is also able to feel the truth of who I am and be inspired by my mere essence.
We are all connected. Let’s lift each other up. Let’s hold each other through the transformations. Let’s love each other deeply. Let’s embody our truest essence.
I invite you to take a moment to sit silently and listen to all that silence truly brings.
And if you still have the gift of your voice, don’t hold it in, use it to express your essence while you can.
And if you don’t have the use of your words, rest assured, you are still communicating beautifully.
