Just because it’s easy, doesn’t mean it’s not enough.
I had this come up for me recently, and am seeing it come up for other’s too.
So, let’s talk about this.
It seems in our culture, in order for something to be enough, you have to work hard and prove yourself.
If something is easy, then you’re not really trying and it’s not seen as valuable.
Blood, sweat and tears, right?
No pain, no gain.
Why do we think we need the pain in order to gain?
Why do we insist on the struggle? Why must it be hard to be worth something?
Have you ever stopped to think, if something is easy for you, that that just may be your gift?
For me, writing has always been effortless. I wrote since I was a child. Poems would pour out in a matter of just a few minutes.
People would read them and wonder how I came up with the words, and how long it took me.
I never felt this was a gift. Or valuable. I mean, it’s easy!
I took it for granted.
It was just natural for me. Therefore, I assumed it was for everyone else too. And that it really wasn’t anything special.
There are other things I take for granted as well, and recently, I have realized what is easy for me, isn’t for other people.
That these things are my gifts. My means for expression. My mode of connection. What I have to offer the world.
Therefore I ask you to feel within. What is easy for you? What brings you joy?
Feel into the ease and the flow.
And as you do know that these things, YOU, are enough. You and your gifts ARE valuable. The effortlessness of your being is worthy.
Let it be easy.
